Thanks a lot for your feedback. Its quite valuable. I too am in the 
western suburbs so I may face problems. My local exchange isnt at all 
helpful. I've experienced this first hand.

I dont care whether they support GNU/Linux or not. I've been able to put 
up with powersurfer and so DSL wont be a problem at all.
