Downloading MP3s, movies, etc is illegal. It's called piracy. It's just that anti-piracy laws are not enforced as strongly at individual level. There are regular "chhapaas" on video and music shops to retrieve illegal DVDs and CDs.
the problem that india and indians have faced is that we have taken our country / state / city infrastructure for granted . we think we are the most imp individuals on earth and we need all that service for free or extremely low cost.
