You have the choice of taking the modem from MTNL (and paying Rs. 80 per
month as rent) or buying your own and putting it. If you buy your own,
then ofcourse, you can choose what you want. But it will be 2 years
before you recover your cost from lower rental (Dlink : Rs. 2400 / 80 -
3 years).
Anyways so far UTstar has worked fine.
