Assuming you have pppoe, run pppoeconf. Use the defaults. Username is

there's a bit of "encryption" to be done. After that, its 'sudo pon
dsl-provider' to fire up and 'sudo poff -a' to shut off the net. 'plog'
and 'ifconfig ppp0' are two commands to help you out.
