Actually there is no point in changing the permissions after the
partition is mounted because the permissions wont be retained. If yuo
want to mount the partition with certain permissions then check mount's
options flag.
You can use mount options to set permissions or alternatively specify
the options in fstab if the partition is mounted at boot.
