pon/poff should work if you have a modem link. If the OP is using adsl modem in bridge mode then `pon/poff dsl-provider' works just fine. Otherwise in case of ethernet connection, `ifup eth0' and `ifdown eth0' can be given from cli. Anurag -- http://mm.glug-bom.org/mailman/listinfo/linuxers
