Old version available in synaptec. Firefox site does not have deb package.

Use  backports. backports.org is an unofficial repository of backports
for the current stable distribution, prepared by Debian developers.
and also check  http://backports.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=instructions

And this is the best method to install newer packages on debian stable.
(there are some other repos like dotdeb and apt-get.org but they are
highly unstable..)
