True. However most of these send out info. This is mostly unknown to
the user, until he is put behind a restricted proxy. On a freshly
proxied setup in a winblows shop unknown transmits are on the avg 40%

The freeware I download is first tested in my system under an
interactive firewall. After disabling automatic updates, if it still
tries to access the net, its dumped. I also read user reviews before
downloading.
