Is that Samsung? Then I would suggest you to return it ASAP. Samsung are the worst optical drives I have heard from. I have seen so many complaints from lots of users at different forums and experienced it myself too. Either the problem is with tray - it doesn't open or doesn't close properly, or with the laser - doesn't read the media. Get something like LiteOn or maybe even Sony.
