Since I am right now under warranty for one year which expires in
June 2007 from Acer on my laptop I would go about trying to get it
replaced....But when I talked to the guys at the service centre he
just baulked when he heard I was running GNU/Linux and told me that
such problems crop up on "LINUX machines".. How do I go about the
matter now?? Do I go shout my head off now???
You could backup your data, erase the HDD and give them the Lappy to do
their own investigation using their favourite software. Ask them to try
out HDD diagnostic softwares or tools if required. This may take some
days but that should help. Go to the authorized service center and
actually talk to them. Meet the service in-charge if necessary.
