I'd say learn secure programming and MVC, learn proper indentation, learn documentation and commenting.

"The Practice of Programming" by Brian W. Kernighan and Rob Pike; published by Pearson Education (maybe Prentice Hall does it too). Costs less than Rs. 300. Read the first chapter: "Style".
