Easwar, see my reply to your earlier mail. Data doesn't get
lost/overwritten randomly.. it is mostly pebkac.
What's pebkac?It was not lost/overwritten,it was not visible within
Mandriva
ie it had a physical existence but was not visible within Mandriva but
visible from Konsole of Knoppix live cd.
pebkac: "Problem Exists Between Keyboard And Chair", this IMO is the
reason for most lost/overwritten data..

Compare the output of the "mount" and "df -h" command.. in both cases.
