This maybe because you have other sources listed in your sources.list
file, which weren't available at the time being.
For example you have archive.ubuntu.com in your sources.list but you
have no internet connection, apt will try to upgrade from the url but it
won't
be available so the error.
I am just assuming this kind of thing because I am not aware how exactly
your sources.list looks like and I haven't tried aptoncd myself.
