You are missing an opening tag there :)
There is no text copy facility: you have to cut, and paste twice. Again, I've found emacs copy paste easier to use than vi's. Take your cursor to the start of the point where you want to copy and press <ctrl>+<space>. Then go to the end of the section your want to copy and press <Esc> and then <shift>+w.
