I am wondering if somebody with sifybb in Mumbai/New Mumbai
can check if port 22 is blocked or is it my figment of imagination?
Ok, sify guys sent a dude to my place, no not the cable dude,
a sify dude. This is the first time since I have been using sify ( for
GOD knows how many years.)
So I showed him that I couldn't login to any ssh server and
such things when connected via sify but I could do it when connected
using Tata Indicom Datacard. The dude told me chang my IP and then he
used another login just to check. Apparently it didnot work. He asked
me the "remote" IP which sort of made no sense to me. Then someone
from Vile Parle called me and spoke to me and the dude even. They
discussed something - the dude told the guy on phone what ssh was -
"linux ka ek command" and such things. They tried Telnet-ing to some
server but it failed on their XP box or so they told me.
And there were more calls to and fro between the dude and his
colleagues/seniors. And then finally he said it seems its a problem at
our end. They will try to solve it from the backend. I said ok. Soon I
got another call from Vile Parle dude and he again asked me for remote
IP. "Humare pass port no. to hai lekin remote IP nahi hai." I said
fine and gave him some remote IP which I knew had a ssh server
running. I wonder what they are going to do with that remote IP.
Right now, I am waiting for them to fix the problem ....
Cheers!
Pradeepto
