Insert cable into eth0. Type mii-tool Insert cable into eth1 Type mii-tool. What do you get? Also, insert cable into eth0 ifdown eth1 ifup eth0 insert cable into eth1 ifdown eth0 ifup eth1 Does it work in this case? Could you also post the output of route -n? Another thing that can go wrong is the media settings and speed (eg 100 or 10 mbps, full or half duplex.) You can see see this from this from the mii-tool output.
