Hi Rony, Look, there must be problem with your installation of linux / hardware configuration in linux or may the distor which u r using is may not be compatible with your hardware. Otherwise I am using Linux from last 3 years, even I have setup thinclient Linux server client setup in panvel for around 40 Pcs. They are using OO, Tally7.2, even PDF viewer but no issues. Yes I got some issues in start but OO & linux forums helped me and now there are no issues.
About DTP you can use scribus. It is free and fantastic tool for DTP. And it's mailing list is also good. Or if u can purchase u can use pagestream also.
