yes i was getting ahead of myself.  i will first install virtualbox and
probably QEMU under existing ubuntu 6.06 (32 bit and 512 MB RAM)  and
7.10(64 bit and 1 GB) and see if that works fine. if yes, then no need
to even
upgrade RAM or go for a new MB.
