Actually the HCL model is the same as the eeepc and I like the build
quality of the eee much better. HCL has another model with a 40g HDD
instead of a flash drive but that retails for around 30k, afaik.

You can install more software on top of the eee but the point is that
this is not the primary use of the eee. This is a low cost solution
for a very specific purpose. Light word processing/presentation ,
emailing and browsing and all software required for these functions is
already installed. If your needs are more than that, you'd be much
better of with a full fledged notebook. Personally, I'd buy one as
soon as they come out with a model with a better resolution.
