Hello everyone at LUG-BOM,
I am facing this strange problem while trying to install Kubuntu/Ubuntu 7.10
on a friend's computer. The media integrity is verified as I used the same
CDs on his laptop and they worked fine.
However I got the following error while trying to install it on the desktop
computer.

[ 0.476000 ] Kernel panic - not syncing: IO-APIC + timer doesn't work!
Boot with apic=debug and send a report. Then try booting with the
`noapic` option.

I did not try the apic=debug and the noapic options as i am not aware how
to set the boot options.
Any help in this regard greatly appreciated.
