You can if the cell phone has a satellite based gps (not an assisted 
gps which uses cell tower for triangulation).

Afaik most will have some software for recording tracks. There are 
also many gpld and freebeer java apps.

However the cost of the phones with gps is a killer.


And before i forget, Alpesh Gajbe is also testing out one device.
