When I was in the *second* year of engineering I had made project similar to what you want. We had used Nokia 6210 ( or maybe 6210i ) and hooked it up using CA42 cable. Now please do understand ONE thing. You cant use this setup to send commercial messages. You can get into trouble for that. But for demo purposes you can surely use it.
