If you are talking about the Free Shipit service -- they only send CDs and not DVDs. Yes you can buy or download a DVD. Even if you get a server edition, you can download and install desktop features. Either way, I have the DVD, but have to download Amarok, VLC, all codes and so one...so I guess that's some thing you will have to do....
