Hold on to your horses man! Don't go around advising people to use --force 
and --nodeps unless they are absolutely sure they know how RPM works and 
how important dependencies are!!

Most likely that this will not be needed.

And I am an apt-get fan .... yeeeehaawwww!!!

As far as tarballs go, I preferred "rpm -bb" on my old RHL box, but havn't 
yet figured out how to created debs on my Debian box.
