I've worked with the Cyber Crime Investigation Cell for more than a year now. I have helped them with tons and tons of cases of all kind;s from Child pornography and hacker to stalkers etc. I dont think people on this list should keep bashing the CCIC the police working with it have gone a long way to learn a lot about computer forensics. They had also been taught a lot from FBI who provided tons of material. The experts (except Flynn Baba) who work with the CCIC help the police with the technical part of the investigation apart from us atleast 3 computer security companies help the cyber crime cell at all times. Ok maybe the infrastructure the cops have is sad but thye work very hard and even stay late nights to catch people on IRC etc, You cant expect them to be computer experts they are cops and they handle the crime part of the investiagtion and are very good at doing what cops do. Also yes they do have linux running at the Cyber crime cell. On a dual boot machine and yes it is used (not by flynn baba, will make him a Eunuch: Ref: Philips Secnet review) .
Also the website of the cyber crime cell is run free of cost by Net4India hosted and developed by them so if its computer security your worried about talk to net4india. When a Indian hacker hacked the site last time the cops had him in less than a week. Now comming to Flynn I know him for the last year and he is the WORST computer security expert I have ever meet if thats what you want to call him. I know for sure that he has NEVER ever written a book on computer seucirty he was a writter in StarDust. The Company he has formed as your google search found has shut down. To be truthful I find it insulting to even work with him. A security computer to him is one which has its Internet Cache deleted. I dont want to carry on with the flynn bashing even though I am beginning to enjoy it :) Just dont judge a cyber crime investiagtion cell by its Flynn :) If you ever are in any trouble or a cyber crime has been committed against you please go down to the CCCIC office at Commissioners Office opp Crawford Market. 1st floor of the building right in front of the main gate. Senior Inspector IM Zahid is the officer incharge btw, Some of the cops working there an API I think even went outof his was to train at NCST the comp security module I think.
