Sometime on Jan 21, Kinjal Sonpal assembled some asciibets to say:

>     Error : The current version of rpm only supports packages
> having major number <= 3.

This is in the archives.  You need rpm version 3.0.5 or 3.0.6 first.
That will allow you to install other stuff.

When it says packages having major no <=3, that refers to the version of
rpm used to create the package, not to the version of the software
inside the package.
