Hello all,

I have a problem. I have updated (recompiled and installed) kernel to
2.4.20. It runs perfectly but for one thing: the modules I have compiled
to load cannot be found, not during booting and also not by YAST.

Fortunately there seems to be only one which I am trying to load and
which can no longer be loaded and that is the sound driver. On
attempting to use YAST to reinstall it, YAST cannot find the appropriate
driver.

I have done the following

make oldconfig (with xconfig)
make dep
make clean
make bzImage
make modules
make module_install
cp bzImage /boot/vmlinuz
cp System.map /boot dirctory (Actually Suse distribution uses
System.map-2.4.19-4GB so tried System.map, System.map-2.4.20 and even
copying System.map of the new kernel to System.map-2.4.19-GB). nothing
helps.

Then I even did mkinitrd which did help on the loading of the reiserfs
but that problem I had already solved earlier by compiling the reiserfs
into the kernel.

I need this new kernel, please help:(

Greetings,

Roland Tollenaar.
