yes, you can use your local SMTP. What happens if the destination host
- mm.ilug-bom.org.in in this case is not reachabale at the moment? your
mail will not get sent. instead, if you forward it to your ISP's
server, it will get queued there and sent as soon as the destination
becomes available. there's also the case of hosts that implement the
DUL - like sourceforge.net
in general, on dial-up, use a smart host whenever possible.
