What do u mean u r not getting the configuration files properly.
If you are running a Red Hat Distro with Grub as your boot loader, openmosix
doesnt require any effort to install.
I have installed 2.4.18-openmosix4 on my box and it gave me no problems.
The only file i had to modify was /etc/mosix.map, there i had to manually add
the other nodes in the network running openmosix.

If u dont have Grub then you have to manually edit your /etc/lilo.conf file
to add the new kernel image(/boot/vmlinuz-openmosix) to your conf file.

Just boot using the new kernel, start openmosix with /etc/init.d/openmosix
start, and enjoy.

I suggest you go thru the FAQ's and the manuals at the openmosix site
http://openmosix.sourceforge.net/
