But mostly cpu overheating or ram overheating due to cpu overheating.
Change the cpu heatsink to a larger one (the one used on celeron). You can now overclock a bit.
Add an extra chasis fan
or run the system without a cover.
I am using two K6-2 550MHz systems one with celeron heatsink and one open cabinet.
Both work perfectly.
Mine runs on 2.4.18 kernel. Earlier it ran RH6.2 and potato.Possibly related: Linux requires the no-hlt boot parameter, otherwise kernel oops. At least with 2.2.x kernels.
