I have tried the following things but still the error persists: 1. start xfs ... then do startx.
2. Take the output from chkfontpath and add the line "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc" as another fontpath in /etc/X11/XF86Config 3. Comment out: Fontpath "unix/:7100" in XF86Config file The 2nd and 3rd porcesses were obtained after searching the archives. Still the same errors :-( Does anybody know the solution? Thanks !!
