please specify redhat linux 8.0 (as you did in the next paragraph), it's totally different from linux 8.0. In this case, it is actually relevant. The kernel shipped with RH 8.0 (linux 2.4.20-18 IIRC) does not have pppoe support compiled in by default. You will have to recompile the kernel with this support. Read the kernel-HOWTO for more information. Don't know where to find it? Ask google. -- Is your job running?
