hi, Kapil has asked me to try apt-setup, before using apt-get update. i tried it but after choosing the mirror for ftp, it gives an error that it could not connect to MY INSTITUTE's ftp site...time out..
i think it has to do something with the proxy settings. I am following the tutorial at http://gnubox.dyndns.org:8080/~sunil/knoppix.php In the tutorial the auther has asked to remove the link---/etc/resolv.conf--and to create a new resolv.conf file. i did this but it doesn't work. plz help. thanks, vivek. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
