Hello there, I want to setup a File Server on the network at my dad's office. he has 10 computers ( win2k , win 98 ) they open MS office applications and Autocad files.
People have suggested Samba, so thats the way i am going... I have more doubts, but no experience setting such stuff up. 1) how do i do backups ? as they work with MSWord and Autocad they dont have much data, but some stuff needs to be archived and a small amount is frequently changed. ( CD ? Tape ? ) 2) what sort of hardware is required for such a server ? any special hardware. ( Raid ? , what sort of Hard Disks ) 3) Any other points which i may have missed ? Networking Equipmet ?
