I have an Apple imac machine. I want to accessWhats the OS on your iMac? I use an iBook SE (Mac OS 9.1.x) , and I did the following to transfer files to my Linux box:
files and folders on that machine from my linux box (RedHat Linux 8.0).
1. I setup the necessary physical ethernet connections between my PC and iBook. Initially, I used a cross-cable, and now I use a hub.
2. I made sure I had setup TCP/IP networking properly using Control Panels > TCP/IP.
3. Under Control Panels > Web Sharing, I chose the directory to share, and then clicked on the *Start* button.
4. In Linux, I opened a web browser and typed in *http://ipaddress-of-ibook/*. I was then shown the directory browsing screen and proceeded to *download* files into my Linux box from my iBook.
