I dont see any reason why we should feel ashamed, particularly after
what we did at WSF.  It is not an easy task to manage 45 volunteers for
10days.  Most of them from mumbai.  However I should say this that apart
from some core participation of half dozen people from the GLUG the
remaining happened to be my students.  This situation should improve
next time we do some major event. 

That GLUG should do a conference is on the cards for several days, but I
think some company should take it up taking the resources from the GLUG.
And this event should be a paid event so that the money collected could
go to FSF India.  FSF India is really starved of funds.
