presumptuous. I do know.

The flasher cable and the fbus /mbus cable are the same. They seem to be using a
different protocol. And there is no reason for connecting it to a parallel port. A
serial port would do just fine. If i remember correctly the cable uses only three of
the 4 pins. The 4th pin is a dummy in the 3315 / 3310.

Things are clearer now. My hypothesis is the software and box simply send a command
and implement a standard flash programming algorithm available from the chip supplier
(Intel, AMD, SST etc.)
1) send command to microcontroller to connect the flash jtag / serial prog pins to the
fbus / mbus.
2) stop micrcontroller
3) read fls file
4) flash as per flash algorithm.

We have reasonable data now- save a bakra ready to sacrifice his phone.
do u have all tools for flashing?. If u do we can proceed as under.

1) make a modified fbus / mbus to serial cable. We want two recieve pins only - no
transmit for now.
2) connect this to the 3310 adapter such that both tx and rx pins of the adapter
connect to rx pins of our modified cable.
3) connect modified cable to com 1 and com2. use minicom or several other serial progs
to listen to the communication.
4) connect flasher to printer port of another machine and flash.

U will get a dump of stuff going into the cell phone. U can now write your own simple
flasher programme on linux. Infact u may be able to use several readily available
programmes including MTD and JFFS2 on linux, and get rid of the flasher box.
