They say we need on= e parallel port Flasher Cable to update the software and another serial pot= F/MBUS cable to update the FAID (Flash Authority ID) without which the pho= ne is as good as screwed. With the Flasher Cable we uplo= ad two file : the MCU(Master Control Unit) which consists of the actual OS = and I guess is thus the most important file for us, and the PPM(Post Progra= mmable Memory) which consists of all the time-pass stuff like ringtones, me nus, games, etc.These files will also be have to Linux oriented. = The software like Rollis, EEPROM tools for FAID update , KNOCK for backu= p is all there and free. There are sites which have free MCU and PPM files = as well(I have not downloaded anything since they rewuire registration on t= he sites and Im a bit bored now :=)) If we can just get the = Flasher Cable, we are good to go since one of you has the F/MBUS cable righ= t? Im ready to meet for this project though I should warn you = Im the least expereinced of you guys...I'm just too enthu. Im also ready to contribute, if we need to buy stuff like a second-hand 3310 or the F lasher cable. Btw, I might get a working Nokia 3310 ina couple= of days....I'll confirm in a couple of days.
