Hi,

I don't have any pointers but this idea might help

If you could enable passwordless ssh login to all machines, thru ssh, grep your log 
files with a pattern and redirect output to a file in those machines, scp that output 
file into a master node and check if file empty, good else not alert thru mail / 
console.
