I asked the phone lady at MTNL when booking my triband why they are not giving
unlimited downloads. Her reply was , "kya sir, humko bhi to kamaney kaa hai".
VErbatim!!. Ofcourse my area has still not seen triband infra so maybe it was a
blessing in disguise.
I dont want a metered connection! I would've taken if the limit was decent(100GB or so.. ;) ).
Also, Be Warned, my neighboring office got the Dishnet (now TATA) broadband at 1
GB limit for 2100/month (128 kbps) a year ago plus.
The bill always came to 6000 or so. Now, it is possible that their systems are
screwed up, but we figured that it was also because there were n viruses or
whatever on pretty much every machine (around 10) on the network that were
sending data packets out resulting in their meter being running 24x7.
So before getting broadband, broaden your horizons and go linux. (even desktops
I mean).
Haha, I know. One of the offices I visited( actually two ) have tons of viruses, trojans, worms. They have like huge switches but the network is always crawling....
BTW, my system is M$ free :). I am 100% Linux user :P
Regards, Dinesh.
