Dear Santosh, I am not sure what on the network you want to monitor. If you wish to pay for support and get a good opensource tool for primarily network uptime and effeciency monitoring then (zabbix.sourceforge.net) should suffice. Otherwise here is a partial list of what I recollect: 1. Protocol specific packet monitor - Ethereal, tcpdump, tcptrace 2. Network Vulnerability Monitoring - Nagios, Nmap, 3. Network Traffic/Bandwidth Monitoring - Pathload, Pathrate 4. Network Benchmarking - Iperf(http://dast.nlanr.net/Projects/Iperf/), Rude (http://rude.sourceforge.net/) Warning: There could be better options than what I have suggested. A good starting point is www.sourceforge.net and www.freshmeat.net Hope this helps. Take care, Paul Alapatt http://www.bernardlabs.org/ -- http://mm.ilug-bom.org.in/mailman/listinfo/linuxers
