That will depend on what FS you want to create. Since partition tables
are written to the MBR, if you want to remove D2 and place it back in
the older comp., then format it seperately by removing D1.

Check your HDD's jumper settings. Some HDDs have a setting for older
non-40GB mobos. Use appropriate setting for 40 GB.
