Hi there,
This is Vihang a rookie linuxer...
I believe that the real potential of linux system lies in its networking
capability but somehow my home machine is not connecting to LAN
i am using Red Hat 8.0 and my configuration is celeron 2 GHz, 128 mb ram , and
a graphics card. i have installed the graphics card.

A brief description about the problem is
when i go to network configuration wizard my network card is detected properly
which is Realtech (some number). Then in the next step i manually put my Static
IP address given by my net connection provider i enter subnet mask and all the
detail. After the wizard finishes i try accessing any website and it says
website not found. i try pinging the some ip and it says network not reachable.
Everythign is working fine on my Windows XP site.

The interface eth0 is detected properly during the booting of the system.

Not sure from where to start the troubleshooting. I tried searching on the net
but no relevent information
Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Thanx Bye
Vihang
