In order to access this list without visiting its website, an email
address is necessary to subscribe to list broadcasts and generally it is
not wise to give private email addresses on a public forum. Yahoo is a
popular email service thats fast and easy to use and till recently,
Indians did
not get pop/smtp access in their yahoo.co.in address. That prevented
them from reading their mails in their favourite email clients. The
other option was to create a mail account on the uk server as it had
pop/smtp access. Many yahoo.com users in India too did not have pop access.
Apart from being offline for composing and reading mails, email clients
have a facility to read the entire message in source code without
opening any doubtfull mails. They can also be set to block download of
remote images and disable java script. This adds to your security as all
email
providers do not have this facility in their web interface. Yahoo has it
and it can be put on in the Options > Inbox View setting.
Regards,
Rony.
