Lets see I've heard music (mp3 included) on redhat9, suse, mandrake, debian and I'm sure whatever your distro is you could get the music up... #lspci (see the output of your sound card) or #scanpci -v not quiet sure right now of other distros on debian run `alsaconf` follow the steps as the ncuses shows you..
