Can Harshal tell me how to use joined Devnagri Fonts? like "kya" etc.
in your name?

Go to http://www-atm.physics.ox.ac.uk/user/iwi/charmap.html
From List select devnagri and create your name in marathi/hindi, then you
can copy paste it in gmail settings !

A much better way is to install and configure scim on your Linux System. http://www.scim-im.com Use m17n as the backend and then use the ITRANS Hindi keyboard for typing Devanagari. If you have any problems, join #linux-india and #scim on Freenode.

If you don't want a permanent solution, you can simply open character map (there kcharselect for KDE, don't know about Gnome) and change to page 9. You'll find all the Devanagari characters.
