True, but I wish to do this for some specific reasons. I want to try out
certain ideas
on processing PIM data using the new subsystem KDE4 has (akonadi) - useful

use the svn version, because *if at all* I manage to do something
interesting, I
can create a patch and hope to get it accepted! :)

Great idea! I was also hoping to find out if there's an active local
community, and
