Tried using easymp3gain after installing the beta version available at
sourceforge.net but it crashed midway while analysing the files in the
folder. Tried using mp3gain from the commandline with the option -r. Don't
know what the command did since i can't see any change.

With audacity I tried normalising one file at a  time but for a layman like
me, it appears nothing happenned.
