Everybody and the dog fell for this one. I hazily recollect the Rs.15000 HCL home computer. Launched in 1999. they collected advances galore, then failed to deliver for months. 9 months after the first launch most took their money back, without interest. A few souls went to the consumer court and got obsolete machines with intermittent rams, which would cause the systems to crash.
