I tried out sysresccd and found it to be a little bomb. Its booting 
option variety is fantastic. It does not have the device information 
utility like the new finnix 101 but it compensates with some nice GUI 
based packages, Disc burning, GUI file browser like MC, GParted, 
Firefox, and a slim desktop. One package called ISOMaster is a nice ISO 
mastering utility and just sometime ago there was a question on this 
list on how to add an Ubuntu Manual into the Ubuntu ISO. This utility 
does just that.
